American Bulldogs Puppies - Choosing What to Look for
American Bulldogs are generally calm dogs. They are said to be good with children if socialized with them from an early age. Nevertheless, the dogs need much training since they are not mere companions. The American Bulldog is a working dog. It is well muscled, bold, but rarely aggressive. In fact, it is suspicious towards strangers and is not always friendly with other dogs.

It has short coat of white or white and brindle color. Some individual dogs have patches. White color is still preferable. The breed is basically disease resistant and does not suffer from any major inherited illnesses.

Though it is hard to determine which puppy from a litter is good for you, there are some tips that will help you to make the right choice. Read the puppy's pedigree. The more titled relatives the puppy has, the better. Watch little American Bulldogs play. A good puppy is always active and will hardly ever miss a chance to interact with someone new. Examine the puppy's eyes. They should be clean and sparkling. Ask the breeder to recommend a puppy for you. S/He spends a good deal of time with American Bulldogs and knows perfectly well each puppy's personality and habits.
