There are two types of the pedigree; they differ temperamentally and physically both. They are Johnson type and Scott type. The Johnson dogs were kept as yard dogs in the old south and they are more aggressive and were used to catch wild hogs and cattle. American bulldog books will include photos and training along with history of the breed.
