Mini Bulldog Puppy

It may be difficult to buy a high quality Mini Bulldog puppy, because this breed is new and still rare. A smaller variety of the English Bulldog was created to replace massive and fierce-looking Bulldogs with smaller, healthier and low-maintenance pets. There are many unethical backyard breeders who sell standard Bulldog puppies claiming they belong to the Miniature variety. Some breeders breed full-sized English Bulldogs down to get smaller puppies, but such dogs are still considered standard, but not Miniature Bulldogs.

It’s almost impossible to find a Mini Bulldog puppy in a rescue. Purebred dogs of this breed are too valuable to be surrendered by even unknowledgeable and busy owners. The only way to obtain a Miniature Bulldog is buying it from a reputable breeder. High quality puppies from champion bloodlines are normally very expensive, but a pet quality dog can be purchased at a great discount. The difference between pet and show quality dogs is not evident for a non-specialist. Pet quality Miniature Bulldogs are healthy and funny creatures, but they can be neither bred no shown because of smaller deviations from the standard.

Both parents of a true Mini Bulldog puppy should be miniature. Only in this case, the puppy preserves the desired features of the breed and lacks the disadvantages of the full-size breed. Mini Bulldog puppies are usually born without cesarean section, because their head is not very large. Miniature Bulldogs lack some exaggerated features of the English Bulldogs; they are healthy and long-lived.

Mini Bulldogs have gone very far from their ancient ancestors - large dogs used for controlling the cattle, dog fighting and bull-baiting. Miniature Bulldogs can serve as watchdogs and family companions. Being small and fragile, a Mini Bulldog puppy is not good as a playing companion for children, but adult Mini Bulldogs make good friends with kids and teenagers. These small creatures have considerable exercise needs, but a play in the yard or a short walk is enough to burn off their energy.

Miniature Bulldogs are much cleaner than other Bulldogs. They are suited for apartment life and can make gentle and loyal pets for the elderly. Being very people-oriented, Miniature Bulldogs should not be left alone for a long time. Busy owners should not buy a pet of this breed. A Mini Bulldog puppy is very sensitive to cold and overheating; it cannot do without dog clothes when the weather is cold.
